What is direct billing?
Direct billing refers to an electronic invoice submission to your extended health provider. If eligible, payments are directly issued to the clinic and remaining balances, if any, are paid by the patient after the service is rendered. This is not to be confused with ICBC nor MSP billing.
What information do you need to bill to my provider?
Typically, all the information we need is listed on your benefits card. If a physical card is not available, log on to your benefits portal and search for the member policy information. If you are still having trouble, give us a call and we are happy to help you!
Could I check eligibility prior to arriving for my appointment?
Unfortunately, we are not able to check billing prior to a service being rendered. We hope you understand, we have limited visibility of plan information as it is considered confidential by the insurer. We encourage patients to check their benefits booklet and/or create a member login to obtain policy details prior to booking their appointment. Please keep in mind we offer this service out of courtesy to our patients and all outstanding balances are the sole responsibility of the patient.
What if I don’t agree with the remaining balance?
All discrepancies should be issued with your provider. Our goal is to provide the best possible outcome for you, however there are times provider portals are shut down (not responding), this is completely out of our control, and you will be prompted to submit privately. At random selection, an insurer can reject claims from time-to-time and request the patient provide physical proof of service. Typically, this request is met with simply providing a copy of your receipt (proof of purchase). Remember your extended health provider should be able to answer most of your question nevertheless, we will try our best to help you. We thank you for understanding.
Could I pre-bill for a service or buy a gift card for someone?
Due to possible infringement of direct billing polices, we do not offer pre-payment nor sale of gift cards. However, we do offer automatic payments, which means you can leave a credit card on file and once the service is rendered, we can forward a charge to your credit card. Keep in mind you will need to sign an authorization form prior to commencing payments. Inquire with reception.

Founder and Registered Massage Therapist, Tommy Danielowski, envisioned Advance Health and Wellness Centre to be a harbour of rehabilitation and a place where patients can entrust their health concerns and aspirations. After dipping his feet into the entertainment industry, teaching English in China for 6 months and extensive traveling, he realized his interests lied in helping people feel better. After graduating from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy, he worked towards the idea of one day bringing an Integrated Health Clinic to smaller communities. Tommy launched the AHW Centre in 2015 and has built a team of therapists to serve the Port Coquitlam community.
We are keen on making our patients feel comfortable well looked after. The A.H.A.W Centre provides state of the art equipment and tools to provide the best possible care.
