Registered Clinical Counsellor

Kelsey Harris

Kelsey is a registered clinical counsellor with the BCACC. She graduated from Yorkville University with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology in 2021. She is passionate of mental health and wellness. Healing should be done in the mind as much as in the body. Wholeness is important because we cannot separate our minds from our bodies. Compassion for ourselves and others is an essential component of healing.

Kelsey brings a trauma-informed, holistic approach to counselling. Her areas of focus are chronic pain, chronic illness, anxiety, depression, life stress, life transitions, caregiver burnout, and perinatal anxiety and depression. Her primary therapeutic modality is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a third-wave cognitive behavioral therapy with a large evidence for treating chronic pan, chronic illness, and mental health conditions. With perinatal clients, she uses more traditional CBT infused with mindfulness and self-care.

Kelsey’s previous counseling experience has been in community mental health with the Interior Health Agency, as a volunteer crisis responder with Kids Help Phone, as a Child Life Specialist volunteer at SickKids Hospital in Toronto, and as a Ladies Chat Night Group Facilitator with the Rainbow Resource Centre in Winnipeg. She is Mental Health First Aid Certified, and her most recent professional development includes attending the World Pain Summit 2021.

In her free time Kelsey enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, kayaking and going on adventures. She is passionate about travel, exploring the world one country at a time. She meditates daily as she has found it to be beneficial for her own well-being. Kelsey has many other hobbies including watching (and making) movies, writing, and podcasting.
